At its most basic level, cloud computing isn’t new. The concept of “thin clients” has been around for a while. It’s just that it’s being implemented in today’s world on a scale never before imagined. Thin clients allow users to purchase inexpensive hardware and still have access to all the sophisticated functionality that was there before.
